M-Bond kits (DG)
M-Bond 43-B, M-Bond 600, and M-Bond 610 are all part of the M-Bond system. These adhesives are high-performance epoxy resins that have been particularly developed for bonding strain gages and special-purpose sensors.
When adequately cured, these adhesives may be used at temperatures ranging from -269°C to +175°C for M-Bond 43-B, and up to +370°C for M-bond 600 and 610 for brief periods. At high temperatures, oxidation and sublimation processes restrict the life of organic materials, as they do for other organic materials. M-Bond 43B is ideal for transducer applications up to +120°C, whereas M-Bond 610 is ideal for transducers up to +230°C.
Shelf Life and Pot Life
M-Bond 600 has a usable storage life of about three months at room temperature, whereas M-Bond 43-B and M-Bond 610 have a useful storage life of around nine months. Once opened and mixed, M-Bond 600 and 610 have room temperature pot lives of two weeks and six weeks, respectively.
Because M-Bond 43B is provided pre-mixed, its pot life is about the same as its shelf life when stored in a tightly sealed container.
Refrigeration at 0°C to +5°C can frequently quadruple these intervals of adhesive effectiveness. Always wait until a chilled bottle has reached room temperature before opening it.
Curing Time
M-Bond 43-B is about 2 hours at +190°C
M-Bond 600 is about 3.5 hours at +170°C
M-Bond 610 is about 3 hours at +190°C
Store refrigerated 0-5°C
