Imidazole

Imidazole is a lipid-enhancing buffer agent. When used with 4% osmium tetroxide solution in the post-fixation of tissue blocks, it produces a prominent electron-opaque staining of lipid droplets with no evidence of diffusion. (Glyoxaline)
