Scott's tap water substitute
Scott's Tap Water Substitute is a reagent used as a bluing agent in histology to provide a gentle blue colour to tissue samples stained with haematoxylin. It is a slightly basic solution that helps to intensify the staining of cell nuclei.
Magnesium sulphate buffered with sodium bicarbonate. Ready-to-use.
