Stain used for:
- Wilder Modification of Bielschowsky's Method for staining of Collagen and reticulum.
- Picrosirius Red Staining of Cardiac muscle following phosphomolybdic acid treatment. For connective tissue stains – Van Gieson stains and variants.
- Laqueur's Method for Alcoholic Hyalin for mallory bodies, erythrocytes, bile pigment and proteinaceous, material in liver.
- Bodian's Protargol Method for neurological tissue stains: Nerve fiber and endings.
