MultiLap fish otolith polishing tool, Model 195

In many materials preparation laboratories, achieving high specimen throughput and precision in specimen preparation tools is a challenging bottleneck to overcome. The Model 195 MultiLap is designed to grind and polish multiple specimens with precise control over each individual specimen. The fixture includes up to six separate pistons used to hold the specimen during preparation and to control the amount of material removed. The piston assemblies enable polishing of specimens up to 1" in diameter, in increments of 10 microns. The specimen mounts also provide a means for viewing the specimen in transmitted light, enhancing the detection of features that require a light transparent specimen. Delrin plastic legs are wear-resistant, providing support while being gentle on various abrasive films and media. The Model 195 is a precise and versatile tool for any precision lapping processes, making it a valuable addition to specimen preparation labs.
