This 2.5ml vial has a wide-mouth opening and a screw closure with good integrity. It has a flat bottom and straight sides to facilitate tissue removal. The Cryosette's unique design allows for optimal operation, whether gloves are used or not. The CryoSette retains tissue samples efficiently at -86°C ULT freezers or in liquid nitrogen gas phase in Dewar flasks at -196°C, but not in LN2 liquid phase.

The screw closure and base of the CryoSette are intended not to seize at low temperatures. Even after several freeze/thaw cycles, there is a rapid visible 1 1/4 turn.

The CryoSette has two surfaces for handwriting or labelling: an anterior surface and a bigger space beneath the base. For the latter, a thin cardboard I.D. label and a plastic translucent cover are provided. The anterior writing surface has been modified to improve ink adhesion.
